Statement of Faith

1. God
We believe in the one true God, eternally existing in three equally divine Persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This God is holy, loving, infinitely perfect, and filled with glory, power, and wisdom. As the immortal Creator and Sustainer of the physical and spiritual universe, He sovereignly rules over all things and is worthy of all adoration. Out of His great love, He is providentially at work redeeming and restoring His creation, desiring a personal relationship with all people.

2. Revelation and Scripture
We believe that God has graciously revealed Himself through the created order and supremeley through His Son, Jesus Christ. We believe the Bible—the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments—is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God. It is the final authority for faith and life, sufficient for all that God requires us to believe, and the complete revelation of His will for salvation.

3. Mankind and Creation
We believe that all persons are created in the image of God, male and female, with equal worth, dignity, and access to God through faith. Because humans bear His image, we believe life is sacred from conception to its natural end. We are created with the capacity for moral choice and the responsibility to manage God’s creation. Furthermore, we believe God desires human life to begin in families where husband and wife are covenanted together under God for life.

4. The Fall and Sin
We believe that sin is a rejection of God’s rule, beginning with the rebellion of Satan and followed by the deliberate choice of Adam and Eve to disobey God. This fall distorted the divine image and resulted in all human beings being alienated from God and corrupted in every aspect of their being. Because of sin, everyone has fallen short of God’s will, creating conflict with God, self, and others. Apart from God’s gracious intervention, all face the penalty of physical and spiritual death and the just judgment of God.

5. Jesus Christ
We believe in God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Word made flesh—fully God and fully human. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, He lived a sinless life, performed miraculous signs, and proclaimed the rule of God.
On the cross, Jesus acted as our representative and substitute, bearing the full penalty of our sins to reconcile us to God. We believe in His bodily resurrection on the third day, His ascension into heaven, and His present reign as Lord of all. He is our High Priest and righteous Advocate, and there is no other name by which we must be saved.

6. Salvation and Justification
We believe that salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received only through personal repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. By His obedience and death, Christ fully discharged our debt, and His righteousness is credited to all who trust in Him. This justification is solely of free grace, not of works, so that no one may boast. Believers have forgiveness of sin, reconciliation with God, and the assurance of eternal life as they live in faith and obedience.

7. The Holy Spirit
We believe in God the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin and gives new life to all who place their faith in Christ. The Spirit indwells, comforts, guides, and equips believers for Christlike living. By the Spirit’s agency, we are adopted into God’s family, sanctified for His purposes, and empowered with spiritual gifts to fulfill the mission of the Church.

8. The Church and Ordinances
We believe the Church is the visible body of Christ, a global community of believers of which Christ is the Head. This universal Church is manifest in local congregations where members are covenanted together for worship, discipline, and service. We participate in the sacred ordinances of water baptism and the Lord’s Supper as signs of our union with Christ and His new covenant.

9. Discipleship and Mission
We believe the mission of the Church is to make disciples of all nations by proclaiming the gospel through evangelism and compassionate ministries. Following Jesus means our lives should be characterized by love, integrity, purity, and simplicity. As followers of Christ’s law of love, we seek to be peacemakers in personal and social situations, recognizing that Christ has broken down the walls of hostility.

10. Christ’s Final Triumph
We believe in the personal, glorious, and bodily return of Jesus Christ. He will exercise His role as final Judge, resulting in the bodily resurrection of both the just and the unjust. We believe in the judgment of the unrighteous to eternal punishment and the eternal reward of the righteous in the new Heaven and the new Earth. In this final triumph, all sin will be purged, and God’s people will dwell in His holy presence forever to the praise of His glorious grace.
